The most instant way is to click on the Audio Samples page of this website and listen to the selection of music clips. If you would prefer to receive a free CD (it has the same tracks on it as are on this website), please contact us at info@dukeboxband.co.uk
We’d love to give you a quote. We need to know the type of function, the location, the venue size, and the proposed set-up and finish times. If you already know your budget we can guage what scale of event we are quoting for - it is useful but not essential to have an indication of your budget. Please contact us by email info@dukeboxband.co.uk or telephone 0208 123 9981 for your quote.
Please click here and fill in the details of your event. It's quick and free to use. You will receive a quote for your event.
When you make your booking you will need to pay a deposit to secure the date. The balance of the full amount is due on the date of the event or within the 14-day period before the date of the event if this is more convenient. The booking deposit is 20% of the total cost.
Our standard line-up is a 5-piece band featuring vocals, piano/keyboards, guitars, saxophone, bass and drums.
We can perform as a larger band with additional horn/brass section and occasionally extra percussionists and vocalists. Alternatively, we can trim the band down for a more intimate event or in venues where space is limited. Please contact us for advice on the most suitable line-up for your event.
Please take a look at the About the Band pages of the website to read more about the musicians in the band.
Yes. We don't use any backing tracks or hidden technology. Everything you hear is 100% live. Nothing compares to the energy and atmosphere created by a live band.
As far and wide as necessary! We have played gigs all over the UK and abroad. However, as a general rule, we play in London and the South of England. If the event’s location is more than 2 hours’ travel from London we may need accommodation provided.
We usually play 3 x 40 minute sets or 2 x 60 minute sets over a 2½ to 3 hour period. We are flexible to your requirements (please let us know prior to booking as set times/lengths need to be agreed in advance).
We are very self-sufficient, and we aim to make the event run as smoothly as possible for you and us. We do ask that a hot meal for each band member and the sound engineer be provided at the venue and that soft drinks/refreshments are available all the time the band is on-site.
It is important that adequate electricity supply is available. If you are not organising this aspect of the event yourself, then you must provide us with contact details of the manager of the venue so we can discuss our power requirements in advance.
It is up to you. As standard we always provide recorded music for our breaks and immediately before and after the band plays. If you’d prefer, you can play your own music or hire a DJ. We can put you in touch with some recommended DJs.
We are used to adapting to unusual spaces. However, the best performing space is a stage of approximately 4m x 3m for the full 5-piece band. We can also play outside, but will need to be under cover in case of rain.
Nearly all of our gigs are weddings and private functions, so unfortunately it’s not usually possible. We do sometimes perform at public events, so it is certainly worth asking us if there is one coming up.
Please take a look at our glowing feedback from our previous clients on the Testimonials page and listen to the band's Audio Samples if there are no public shows coming up in your area in the near future.
If something changes and you need to cancel, please give us as much advance notice as possible.
It is extremely unlikely that the band will cancel. If one of the band members is taken ill, we have plenty of backup musicians and singers who are highly skilled and rehearse with us regularly.
As long as it’s within reason, we can start later or earlier than the agreed start time. Sometimes a venue’s license doesn’t allow live music beyond a certain time in the evening. We will always do our best to accomodate any last-minute changes
