About the Band

Duke Box is a fantastic 5-piece band. Featuring talented and vibrant musicians, fronted by outstanding lead female and male vocalists, Duke Box really is one of the best party bands in the UK today.

Duke Box plays a huge selection of today's hits and popular songs from the last five decades. Covering the likes of ABBA to Aretha Frankin, Bon Jovi to The Beatles, The Kinks to The Killers, The Monkees to Michael Jackson, Tom Jones to Tina Turner!

When Duke Box plays, the dance floor fills. The band is the ideal choice for any situation; whether it’s a big event or a private party. With a large and diverse upbeat repertoire, you can be assured that Duke Box will have everyone up singing and dancing.

Musicians

Victoria Howarth - Vocals

Victoria - Lead VocalsVictoria has been performing on stage since the age of 11, taking her first professional lead at 13. Currently training and writing an album with Helen Sheppard, she has attended vocal workshops with the likes of Claire Martin and Carol Grimes. Initially trained as a classical singer, Victoria is equally comfortable singing a range of styles, from rock to pop, PJ Harvey to Chaka Khan!

She has performed at the Purcell Rooms on London’s South Bank, in New Zealand, Mexico, Australia, France, and at a range of top venues around London and the South East. Currently recording an album of traditional folk songs, Victoria also sings jazz, blues and soul music.

 

 

 

Rufus Stone - Bass and Vocals

Rufus - Bass and VocalsComposer, arranger, producer, and multi instrumentalist Rufus Stone has performed extensively around Great Britain and across Europe in a range of musical styles. Currently a member of The Rufus Stone Band, Rumiko Jr and The Hayley Savage Band, Rufus has played with a huge number of musicians including The Distractions, The Blunter Brothers, The A Team and The Mama Josie All-Stars. Rufus has recorded 15 albums and is working on 4 more due for release this year.

 


 


Danny Jefferies - Guitars

Danny - GuitarsDanny is a highly experienced guitarist who has performed and recorded with many bands in almost all genres, including Rock, Heavy Metal, Shred, Blues, Jazz, Funk, Reggae, Hip Hop, Drum and Bass, Pop and Folk.

n 2005, he wrote and published a book on electric guitar technique and applications called "String Theory". He has also performed at the London Guitar Show in the Wembley Conference Centre.

Danny has a BA(Hons) Degree in Contemporary Music from the Academy of Contemporary Music, and is now the head of guitar studies at the Southern Music Academy.

 



Josef Stout - Saxophone and Keyboards

Josef - Sax and Keys Josef studied with Martin Speake, Gareth Williams and Nikki Iles at Middlesex University before completing a degree in jazz studies there in 2007. Currently a member of the Terry Hellyer Big Band and Duncan Reeks’ Big Jazz Orchestra, he also runs his own Saxophone Quartet ‘In Come Sax’. Jo’s favourites include Sonny Rollins, Hank Mobley and Cannonball Adderley.

 

 

 

 

 

Will Connor - Drums and Percussion

Will - DrumsWill started playing drums at the age of nine, and studied for eleven years before attending a well-known music academy in 2003. He began playing with live bands when he was young and became a sought-after session drummer by the time he was in his early 20s. Will has worked with bands playing almost every musical style, both on stage and in studio sessions.

He has performed at many of London’s top venues as well as at festivals, private functions and events. When not picking up his sticks to perform with Duke Box, Will plays with original bands and composes music. He is also regularly found performing as drummer / percussionist for bands in theatres and arty venues.
